WiMAX is emerging as an increasingly important technology for the continued growth of innovative service provider delivery models. Now going into its fourth year, WiMAX World USA is the largest event in the world for wireless and mobile broadband with a focus on WiMAX. Trendsmedia again has invited xchange to sponsor the Best of WiMAX Awards after successfully conducting the Best of WiMAX World USA Awards in 2006 and the Best of WiMAX World Europe Awards in spring 2007.
"xchange is honored to partner once again with Trendsmedia to produce the Best of WiMAX World Awards program," said Mike Saxby, group publisher for xchange. "The participation in the program is growing and the competition for top honors promises to be greater than ever. The winners will be truly industry leaders."
According to Eliot Weinman, conference founder and co-chair, "We have collaborated with xchange magazine for the past two years in producing the WiMAX World Awards. This fall marks a critical year for WiMAX as chip, device and equipment vendors plan to get their products certified. Our independent advisory board is dedicated to evaluating a wide variety of products and WiMAX network deployments and determining which ones will win these coveted awards."
The awards will be given in the following categories:
- System Design
- Service Provider Deployment
- Chip Design
- Industry Innovation
- Devices/Peripherals/Application Software
- Muni Broadband Collaborative Deployment
- Industry Choice
Final selection of winners and the Industry Choice nominees will be made by an independent award selection committee of experts. The Industry Choice award winner will be voted on by attendees of the WiMAX World USA event. Winners will be announced during a special presentation at the WiMAX World USA conference on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
