Keynotes and Sessions Focus on Mobile Freedom and Open Network Platforms
Boston, MA - Mobile Internet World - October 22, 2008 - Following an exciting and informative pre-conference day, Mobile Internet World 2008 today kicked off its main conference program and expo. Attendees welcomed a wide range of industry thought leaders who are delivering new mobile internet solutions and applications globally.
Eliot Weinman and Emily Nagle Green of Yankee Group kicked off the morning's keynote presentations with a presentation titled "Unleashing the power of the Anywhere Network." Green emphasized that the mobile revolution is already underway, adding, "One cannot have the Anywhere Network without the Mobile Internet, and vice-versa." She cited compelling data to make her case that great change is already upon us, noting, "by 2012, 1 billion handsets will be shipped that include full mobile browsers."
Morning keynotes delivered by executives from industry leaders Sprint, Intel, ACCESS, Vodafone, and Verizon Wireless, focused on the central themes of choice, anywhere access, and the uniqueness of the mobile environment. In the afternoon, attendees chose between a diversity of sessions in four tracks: Mobile Enterprise & Security; Mobile Transactions Workshop; Media and Advertising Opportunities for the Mobile Internet; and Mobile Content & Entertainment.
The Mobile Internet World Expo floor opened for attendees to network and meet with some of the top vendors in mobile industry. As part of the Expo, the Mobile Internet Solutions Theatre featured product briefings from some of the world's leading mobile technology, service, and solution providers, including NetBiscuits, Intel, Ericsson, Qualcomm, and Opera Software.
Tomorrow's agenda includes keynotes delivered by business executives from Google, Ericsson, and Qualcomm. Panel discussions include enabling mobile content and applications, as well as breakout sessions on topics as diverse as "Is There More Room for Social Networks?" to "Monetizing Value in an IPO Draught".
